Arrival of the Nu TIMS!

October 28, 2014

PCIGR is pleased to have received the first commercially available TIMS (thermal ionization mass spectrometer) produced by Nu Instruments (Wrexham, UK).

The TIMS has been developed using Nu Instrument’s field-proven variable dispersion multicollector technology to improve the versatility and overall performance of this long-established analytical technique.

A team from Bird Construction, along with PCIGR staff and Nu Instruments engineers, carefully unloaded and unpacked the crates. Over the next 3 weeks, the Nu engineers and PCIGR staff will be working hard to install and test the instrument.
